Effective Student Marketing is launching contests that revolve around social media for current clients. The contests are designed to engage Facebook fans and Twitter followers, as well as advertise current campus events. Contests are just one of the products that Effective Student Marketing offers as part of its social media work.
“Contests can be a great marketing tool when combined with social media. They give students a reason to keep coming back to the page, and offers them a chance to interact with the school and each other,” said Julie Foley, Director of Client Services at Effective Student Marketing. “Social media isall about interaction, and offering incentives like gift cards is a great way to spark conversations.”
West Coast University, a nursing school in California, and American Career College, a healthcare training school in California, will be holding contests. Students will post brief stories explaining how their school has positively impacted their lives for a chance to win gift cards to local businesses.
Salon Success Academies, a cosmetology school in California, is another school that Effective Student Marketing is managing a contest for. Students will take photos of creative hairstyles that will then be judged by school officials and other students. Winners will be awarded gift cards to local beauty supply stores.
Effective Student Marketing has already run successful contests for American Career College and West Coast University on Facebook. This will be the first time they also integrate Twitter. Students’ entries will also be posted on the micro-blogging site to increase visibility for the schools. This is the first contest for Salon Success Academies, but a second contest, centered on makeup, is already in the works.
